About Maleah, Death Doula in British Columbia
Maleah Bajich is a death doula & massage practioner in British Columbia, offering grounded, supportive care to individuals and families navigating the end-of-life journey. Based in Qualicum Beach and Parksville, BC, she provides both in-person and virtual support across Canada.
Her work bridges the emotional, practical, and spiritual realities of death meeting people where they are, without avoidance or illusion.
Maleah’s Work
Maleah supports individuals and families through all stages of the dying process, including advance care planning, bedside presence, and grief integration.
Her approach is rooted in honesty, steadiness, and deep respect for each person’s experience. Rather than softening the reality of death, she creates space for it to be witnessed as it is—while ensuring no one has to face it alone.
How she came to this
Maleah is also a long-time business owner, having run her own massage practice for over 15 years, working closely with individuals through the physical, emotional, and often unspoken layers of healing.
Her background spans more than 20 years in the healing arts as a Reiki Master Teacher, alongside 7 years of dedicated practice and leadership within Tibetan Buddhist teachings under the guidance of traditional teachers.
This combined foundation allows her to remain steady in complex, uncertain, and often intense moments—offering grounded, attentive support when it is needed most.
Maleah’s approach to death
Maleah believes that avoiding the truth of death can create more fear and disconnection.
Her work centres on meeting death directly, with clarity and care allowing individuals and families to prepare, process, and move through the experience with greater understanding and support.
Each journey is unique. There is no one way to die, and no one way to grieve.
Her role is not to lead, but to walk alongside.
